Steve Jobs is noted as wanting to reinvent three things: television, textbooks, and photography. Looks like that is exactly what is happening and the company Lytro may be part of that equation. Technology seems to be moving toward simplicity which some may argue is not progress at all. In either case, moving forward or backwards, check out this new form of camera and let me know your thoughts.
Julie: The concept is really cool but I can't see myself seriously using it yet. I think that when this technology makes it in to a more serious camera then maybe we will have something, still to me, an image is much more than the camera equipment. I know this opinion is not shared by many purists. At the end of the day, I don't think that it's your film camera, digital camera or light field camera that makes the perfect photo. Remember that no camera or computer software can make a nervous portrait subject feel at ease :) or take that spectacular photo composition. 1.31.12 at 10:38 AM

Here are a few shots of Teddy as we finalized his name!! What an amazing impact a puppy can have on you. He just seems to make you smile...even when he chews on everything he's not supposed too. Well we arrived at his name partly due to the fact that he looks like a teddy bear but also because I looked at his family tree and found a pup in his lineage (I think his grand-puppy) to which we wanted to connect him. He's definitely a rockstar! Here are a few shots from when we went to a little park across from Delray Beach.
Today was a great day for me. I say that because I find myself from time to time being caught in the rut of day to day living without remembering who I am, what I'm living for and where I come from. We all have a story that helps define who we are right? I mean, let's face it... our present day is the sum of all that we've experienced, choices we've made, events we've witnessed and how we live out this moment based on where we want to go. Well personally, there are times I lose track of that. I realize I may be the only one who forgets this from time to time and everyone else reading this post is right on target but maybe someone you know gets derailed every now and then. That's why I'm thankful for the reset button! Yes, haven't you heard, there is a reset button but here's the "thing"...it's different for everyone. Yep, everyone's reset button may look a little different however, in time, if you pay attention, it will be revealed. The trick for me was simply remembering my roots. This combined with some athletic activity was just what I needed to have all 8 cylinders firing again. So, in leu of this great reset button, I was also recharged on a professional level remembering my roots as an artist first and foremost and a photographer second. Here's one image of many to come from a wedding soon to be posted of Elizabeth and Albert...hope you like.
Elizabeth: Mike...I love this...I was away on a business trip the week this was posted. Albert picked me up at the airport and when we arrived home, he had our laptop open to this page...I was ECSTATIC!!! What a beatiful picture. I couldn't believe that it was me!!! What a great make-up artist can do (ha ha). Your vision with this picture was amazing!!! I can't wait to see the rest. Thank you!
