Teddy: Puppy Power 2

Personal
Here are a few shots of Teddy as we finalized his name!! What an amazing impact a puppy can have on you. He just seems to make you smile...even when he chews on everything he's not supposed too. Well we arrived at his name partly due to the fact that he looks like a teddy bear but also because I looked at his family tree and found a pup in his lineage (I think his grand-puppy) to which we wanted to connect him. He's definitely a rockstar! Here are a few shots from when we went to a little park across from Delray Beach.

Luis and Marissa Wedding

Wedding
Preparations began at the Hyatt Regency of Coral Gables Miami with excitement building for the spectacular wedding day of Luis and Marissa. We arrived at the ceremony only to find Luis patiently waiting for his bride-to-be to walk down the isle at the beautiful Church of the Little Flower which was influenced by the Spanish Colonial architectural of Mexico and features the art of the Spanish Renaissance. Needless to say, Marissa looked stunning in her designer Casablanca wedding dress however she quickly slipped into her Augusta Jones dress for a beautiful reception pulled together by Marilyn Exposito Weddings with flowers provided by the ever talented Gio Vidal of Feel the Flowers. Every couple shares a unique story with me of how they met, what they had to go through to get "here", or how their love story unfolded. As well, there is usually something that stands out in my mind, and with Luis and Marissa....I admire their strong dedication and commitment first to one another (and little George), but as well as their family and friends. Once again, thank you for having us as part of your wedding day and congratulations!

Elizabeth and Albert Wedding

Wedding
I first met Albert and Elizabeth during the reception of a wedding I was shooting back in December 2007. Immediately, I knew as they mentioned having me shoot their wedding that we were going to connect and help make their wedding dreams come true. We scoped out the location to uncover the hidden potential of the Miami Botanical Gardens while Elizabeth and her friends ran with the ideas to make everything fall into place perfectly for an unforgettable day. Both Albert and Elizabeth are amazing individuals but they make an even better pair as they compliment each with a great sense of humor and laid back personalities that allow them to enjoy the best things in life...each other. We were honored to savor their wedding day as friends and family witnessed a truly heartfelt ceremony and the great thing about the Gardens is that it provided an excellent area for us to shoot in and made for some yummy delicious lighting conditions. Elizabeth and Albert, thank you for being so great to work with and allowing us to preserve this day for you guys. Congratulations once again...

Rigo H.: The wedding came out great. To the bride ... the bouquet is beautiful! I love the colors and your choice of flowers. Trust me when I tell you, you're going to be blown away by the album Mike's gonna put together for you. And the picture of you guys on the bridge is stunning! You guys came out so natural ... that's how it's supposed to be. It really shows how you can truly be yourselves around each other.

Congratulations to you both. 7.24.08 at 1:50 PM

Remember Your Roots

Personal
Today was a great day for me. I say that because I find myself from time to time being caught in the rut of day to day living without remembering who I am, what I'm living for and where I come from. We all have a story that helps define who we are right? I mean, let's face it... our present day is the sum of all that we've experienced, choices we've made, events we've witnessed and how we live out this moment based on where we want to go. Well personally, there are times I lose track of that. I realize I may be the only one who forgets this from time to time and everyone else reading this post is right on target but maybe someone you know gets derailed every now and then. That's why I'm thankful for the reset button! Yes, haven't you heard, there is a reset button but here's the "thing"...it's different for everyone. Yep, everyone's reset button may look a little different however, in time, if you pay attention, it will be revealed. The trick for me was simply remembering my roots. This combined with some athletic activity was just what I needed to have all 8 cylinders firing again. So, in leu of this great reset button, I was also recharged on a professional level remembering my roots as an artist first and foremost and a photographer second. Here's one image of many to come from a wedding soon to be posted of Elizabeth and Albert...hope you like.
